This article caught my eye, but after reading it I question its accuracy. While I'm looking into it, anyone else out there care to research and share your results?
Four Myths about Eggs
I just don't think their dismissals of organic, cage-free, and "raised without antibiotics" are justified. Actually they call it "free range" rather than cage-free, which is not how I usually see eggs listed. Makes me envision vast herds of chickens roaming the plains, guided by chicken-boys on horseback. Hmm, would make for a funny cartoon.
The best bet in finding good eggs is to find someone who has a few hens and will sell you some eggs. They are better tasting (depending on diet) and certainly fresher! As for antibiotics, as far as I know there are not many antibiotics that are even approved for use in laying hens.
